The UNIVERSITY of COIMBRA is an indisputable reference in higher education and research in Portugal and in the world, due to the quality of the courses taught and to the advances achieved in pure and applied research.

Internationalisation is everywhere apparent in its daily life. This is, to a great extent, due to the individual commitment of its teaching staff and researchers. One can feel the international atmosphere created by the gathering together, on a permanent basis, of students, teachers and researchers of different cultural backgrounds from all around the world (20% of its students come from about 60 countries).
