Dr. Javier Hernández Andrés, representing the coordination team of the Erasmus Mundus - Monesia project was invited by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) funding agency of the Erasmus Mundus iniciative, and the research and consultancy company Ecorys to participate on the Erasmus Mundus Joint Workshop: Recognition of Degrees and Joint Degrees and Sustainability, celebrated in Brussels last 26-27 March 2012.

UFG Monesia promotion (meetings) The coordinator of the Erasmus Mundus - Monesia project was invited by the Spanish Ministry of Education to chair the session about University Politics on Joint Degrees (Jornadas de Política Universitaria sobre Títulos Conjuntos). During the session, he give an overview about the Erasmus Mundus partnership between European and Third Country higher education institutions, known as Action II of the Erasmus Mundus cooperation and mobility programme (former Erasmus Mundus Cooperation Window) providing some hints about the preparation of proposals and explaining the pros and difficulties that entail the coordination of projects.

Monitoring of the Erasmus Mundus project Monesia at UFG

A UFG recebeu, nesta sexta-feira (5/11), o consultor externo da Comissão Europeia de Educação, Roberto Canessa. O objetivo da viagem é fazer um monitoramento do programa Erasmus Mundus na América Latina, em especial o projeto Monesia. O Erasmus Mundus visa melhorar a qualidade do ensino superior e promover o diálogo e a compreensão entre povos e culturas mediante a mobilidade e a cooperação acadêmica. O Monesia é um dos projetos do Erasmus Mundus e oferece bolsas de estudos para estudantes e docentes de países da União Europeia e Brasil, Paraguai e Uruguai. Além do Monesia, a UFG também trabalha com os projetos Isac e Emundus15.

Roberto Canessa se encontrou com estudantes estrangeiros que estão na UFG beneficiados pelo Monesia, e com estudantes da casa que já fizeram intercâmbio por meio de algum projeto do programa Erasmus Mundus. Para o consultor, é de fundamental importância ouvir a opinião dos beneficiados, já que é por intermédio dessas opiniões que são melhoradas as condições dos projetos. Tópicos como pagamento das bolsas, ajudas de custo com passagens, seguro-saúde, foram discutidos durante a reunião. A avaliação de Canessa na UFG foi positiva, uma vez que a maioria dos estudantes elogiou o gerenciamento dos projetos.

Além do Brasil, o consultor da Comissão Europeia de Educação fará o monitoramento no Paraguai, outro país da América Latina que trabalha com o projeto Monesia.

Awareness Raising Campaing of Monesia at the Universidad Católica del Uruguay

Representatives of the Project Management Unit (PMU) of Monesia carried out the first local awareness rising campaign of the project in Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay during the last weeks of September, 2009. The goal of this promotional tour was to present the project to the academic community at different universities of the Monesia consortium, embassies of participating European Countries and EU delegations in Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay.

The following pictures show some moments of the meetings and seminars carried out at the different partner universities visited throughout the campaign:

At UEPB, the representatives of the Project Management Unit (PMU) of Monesia had the opportunity to meet the Rector of the University, Prof. Marlene Alves Sousa Luna, opening new channels for the dissemination and promotion of the Erasmus Mundus - Monesia scholarship programme at the Universidade Estadual de Paraíba (Brazil).
