Monesia is a European project that provides scholarships for undergraduates, master and doctoral students, post-doctoral fellows and academic staff. The grants are financed by the European Commission and include a monthly subsistence allowance, travel expenses, insurance costs and tuition fees if applicable. Only mobilities between Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay on the one side and the European Partner Universities on the other side are eligible for funding. Monesia stands for MObility Network Europe-Southamerica: an Institutional Approach. At the same time Monesia is the name given to the extract of a common Brazilian tree known for its unique properties.
