With over a century of life, National University of Asuncion is made today by an active academic community of around 36,000 students and 5,500 teachers in 69 races spread that develop in the various faculties with their headquarters located in various regions.
The National University of Asuncion, founded in 1889, is the first institution of higher education, the oldest and most traditional of the country. In the beginning had the Faculties of Law, Medicine and Mathematics, and schools Clerk, Pharmacy and Obstetrics.
Today, our University has 12 faculties and 1 institute in the 69 careers taking place in various areas of science, social, artistic and technology, offering students the most comprehensive range of training opportunities.
It has several institutes and research and technology centers that provide facilities to the academic community, both for the conduct of scientific work to develop postgraduate studies, reflected in contributions to society.
With a broad geographic coverage, its faculties have subsidiaries in Pedro Juan Caballero, Caacupe, San Juan Bautista, Santa Rosa (Misiones), Caazapá, Villarrica, Coronel Oviedo, Caaguazú, Paraguarí, Villa Hayes, San Pedro, San Estanislao, Crossing The Pioneers (Boqueron) and Benjamin Aceval.
Its infrastructure is distributed in several university complexes, the San Lorenzo being the largest one, which concentrate the headquarters of the Schools and Centers.
